Strickland pulls ahead of Kasich

by Policy in Practice on February 24, 2010

In the latest poll figures from Quinnipiac, Governor Ted Strickland leads challenger John Kasich by 5 points, a positive swing for the incumbent since the most recent figures were available.

62 percent of the respondents said they did not know enough about Kasich to have an opinion, and indeed, the result of the election is likely to turn on what voters come to believe about the former Republican presidential candidate and Fox News personality.

Similarly, how much blame Ohioans place on Strickland for the economic struggles is likely to have considerable sway, though recent polls have indicated that the vast majority of voters are aware that Ohio has not been operating in a vacuum, well aware of the international recession of the past two years.
